In alignment with the CDC and local public health guidelines, United Way of Metro Chicago has made the conscious decision to cancel this year’s Stronger Neighborhood Awards Luncheon.
Our new “normal” seems to change by the day as we face challenges that were unthinkable just a few short weeks ago. United Way of Metro Chicago has been at the forefront of the COVID relief efforts for our neighbors most impacted by the pandemic. But as the fight against the virus continues, we cannot lose sight of the ongoing need that existed in our neighborhoods before this pandemic and will be even more pressing in the months and years ahead.
For the past five years, United Way of Metro Chicago has held the Stronger Neighborhoods Awards Luncheon to gather as a community to support United Way’s neighborhood initiatives. Canceling this year’s luncheon does not cancel the ongoing need for United Way’s important work. The COVID crisis has shown just how fragile many of our communities are and the sustained need for continued investment is crystal clear. Although we can't meet in person, our hope is that you will stay by our side with a donation.
Thank you for believing in our work and believing that together, we can make stronger families, stronger neighborhoods, and a stronger Chicago region.
