We regret that our upcoming 2020 April Food Day, will be postponed and rescheduled at a later date. United Way of Metro Chicago is taking the precaution to postpone the event given the increased attention on COVID-19, and the uptick in confirmed cases across the country and in the Chicago region. United Way continues to leverage important guidance from relevant government bodies and other organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization, and the Chicago Department of Public Health with the objective of establishing protocols and processes to best protect the safety and well-being of our colleagues and the community.
While we are disappointed, our priority is the safety of those who attend our events. We are committed to rescheduling this impactful event and to continue our work of addressing food insecurity in the south-southwest suburban region. Now, more than ever, it is critical that we help all of our neighbors meet their basic needs. If you would like to make a financial donation to support April Food Day and our work to help keep pantry shelves stocked, visit our April Food Day donation form.
We will be in touch with additional information in the future regarding April Food Day.
