“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.” — Desmond Tutu

Despite all the hardships our local community and world continue to face, 2020 has also shown the commitment of the Chicago region to come together to help one another.

At United Way of Metro Chicago, we are grateful to have a team of supporters and partners from the city and suburbs that has joined forces to build back a stronger, more equitable region for every person and family.

Our 2020/2021 Campaign Cabinet, and many corporate partners, are proof that even in the most challenging of times, the hope for a brighter day can unite all of us to build a stronger tomorrow.

Charles Matthews, the 2020/2021 Campaign Chair, along with the seven Vice Chairs, have worked tirelessly to build a team of 50 Cabinet Members who believe in and support this vision. They’re fundraising and connecting us to new partners to support our work in neighborhoods.

“We’re so grateful to this group of dynamic leaders. This cabinet is raising the bar on fundraising during one of the most challenging moments of our lifetime,” said Betsy Hughes, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer at United Way. “And they’re doing it because they care deeply about this region. They see the needs of our neighbors and want United Way to have the means to meet them.”

“We thank each of them for their continued commitment and support!”
