April Food Day 2024

Help nourish our neighbors. Everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food. Join United Way of Metro Chicago for April Food Day on April 25, 2024 as we come together to promote food security and recognize our community leaders advancing equity in the south-southwest suburbs, a region facing high levels of poverty and systemic education, health, and wealth inequities.

Uniting for the Holidays Gives Food and Hope

More than 30% of households in Cook County have difficulty meeting their basic needs, including access to food. Uniting for the Holidays is United Way’s response to this need, providing thousands of holiday meals and gifts to our neighbors throughout the Chicago region.

Deepening Our Impact in the Suburbs

For more than a decade, United Way of Metro Chicago has been working alongside community partners through place-based, resident-led transformation. In 2023, we deepened this commitment in the suburbs through the launch of four new Neighborhood Networks: Elgin, Ford Heights/Chicago Heights, Harvey, and Park Forest/Richton Park.

Neighborhood Networks Expand in the Southland

The expansion of the Neighborhood Networks represents our commitment to the south suburbs of Chicago – and furthers the impactful work driven by local nonprofits in the community. It’s also a testament to the power of partnerships – and what we can accomplish when we come together across different sectors.
