Chicago historian Shermann “Dilla” Thomas and United Way of Metro Chicago are working together to share the culture and history of our city – and the exciting impact happening in our Neighborhood Networks.
Join United Way of Metro Chicago for a free exclusive conversation with Chicago urban historian Shermann “Dilla” Thomas as we explore Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy and culture, his unique connection to Chicago’s South and West Sides, and what’s happening in those communities today. RSVP for one of our two broadcast dates.
This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, you’re invited to an exclusive conversation about the civil rights movement in Chicago, as told by the Urban Historian and TikTok sensation Shermann “Dilla” Thomas. Dilla will reflect on Dr. King’s 1966 campaign to secure open and affordable housing and how that movement shaped the Chicago we know today.
