This year has challenged us in ways we could not have imagined, and many of our neighbors, especially those in predominantly Black and Brown communities, still need our support. But despite the obstacles, we are energized to do things differently as we transition from immediate COVID response to recovery.
At United Way, our goal is not to return to normal, because normal didn’t provide opportunities for all our neighbors. Our goal is to create a vibrant Chicago region where all families have access to the resources they need to thrive. Whether you donate to our long-term regional recovery plan, provide a holiday meal for families in need, or give virtually of your time, you can make difference. Every Gift Counts – You can be part of building back a stronger, more equitable tomorrow.
When you donate to United Way’s regional recovery effort, you’re supporting community leaders as they transform neighborhoods from the inside out and helping families meet their basic needs.
Join us today in building back a stronger, more equitable Chicago region.
This holiday season, you can make a difference in the lives of families in need when you give back to give a hand up. Your gift to Uniting for the Holidays, a festive, “drive-through” event taking place in six suburban locations from mid-November to mid-December, will help ensure thousands of families across the region receive a meal and gifts to brighten their holiday.
You can make a difference this holiday season!
The COVID-19 health crisis has impacted everyday life in different ways. United Way works with our partner agencies to identify volunteer opportunities for individuals to give of their time to communities in need.
Current projects are primarily virtual and may include creating Protective Face Masks to meet the critical needs of high-risk partner agencies, providing interview practice and resume support to job seekers through Virtual Mock Interviews and Resume Prep, and assembling Pack and Learn Care Project Kits to provide supplies to agencies in need. Sign up today and receive updates as new volunteer opportunities become available.
