Projects and Opportunities

Virtual Mock Interviews
Obtaining a job is a critical piece to individual and family success. Sometimes, the only thing keeping job seekers from getting a job is nailing that interview. Our Virtual Mock Interview Program offers Job Seekers the opportunity to gain interview experience and confidence through practice and Volunteer Interviewers an opportunity to provide support and advice to those seeking employment.

Virtual Resume Workshops
Having a robust resume is an essential item that many job seekers and students need when applying to jobs, colleges, or internships. By assisting a student or job seeker, you can help ensure they have everything they need to stay competitive for future opportunities. Our Virtual Resume Workshops offer students and job seekers the opportunity to work with volunteers to create a resume. Volunteers are needed to help clients from United Way non-profit partners build confidence by helping them identify their skills and talents. Visit the Virtual Student Resume Workshop and Virtual Job Seeker Resume Workshop pages to learn how to get involved.

Virtual Pack and Learn Care Projects
Individually or with a small group, create “shoe box” kits of supplies requested by United Way agency partners. While packing your boxes, you can learn about our Neighborhood Network Initiative and hear from United Way staff and/or community leaders working to support recovery efforts. All “shoe boxes” will go directly to the agency that requested the supplies. Types of kits include Literacy Kits, Hygiene Kits, Snack Packs, Baby Kits, School Supply Kits, New Home Kits, and Senior Kits. Visit the Virtual Pack and Learn Care Project page to learn how to get involved.
